Kilwirra Church dates back to the 12th century built at a time when monasteries were occupied throughout Ireland. It is situated in the townland of Templeton which got it's name from it's connection with the Nights Templers. It is situated on a small drumlin one km from the nearby beach aptly named Templeton beach.

This mountain is 1,992 feet high & when you are up at the top you can see 5 Counties, you can see the Isle of Man on the horizon to the north & Dublin City & County to the south. Great place to camp especially on the 21th of June.

Tollymore forest park is just a ferry crossing away across Carlingford lough in the Mourne Mountains, there are very old deciduous & Evergreen trees with beautiful walkways which follows an even more beautiful river which runs through the park. You can park your campervan on the grounds as well as pitch a tent all in a designated area which is beside a children's playground. The journey to this beautiful forest park is just over an hour away, a must visit on the way to Belfast.
