A guide to Hill Head and surrounding area

Sightseeing

The Beach! There are 3 main ways of walking to the beach. For all of them, leave the bungalow and turn right to walk down towards Hill Head Road. Then either: - Turn right along Hill Head Road towards The Osborne View pub and cross the road. Just past the pub there is a short slope down to the beach. - Turn left along Hill Head Road and cross the road. Just opposite the large community noticeboard there is a small alleyway leading to some (steep) steps down to the beach. (PS this is where Andy used to come as a small child!) - Turn left along Hill Head Road and cross the road. Walk on down to the junction with Crofton Lane. Turn right down to the start of Salterns Lane and turn right down to Salterns car park and the beach. (If you are driving to the beach this is probably the easiest place to go.) There are 6 beach towels on the top right cupboard in the porch. Please use these for the beach rather than the grey towels. It would be helpful if you could wash and dry these if you use them as washing and drying all the laundry between guests is a challenge. A beach rug and basket can be found in the top kitchen cupboard right of the fridge. We have a few wetsuits of various sizes and some camping chairs in the garage. None of them are the latest model, but if they make your visit to the beach more enjoyable, please do use them. Again, please try to make sure they are dry before putting away.
