In the Republic of Ragusa, this was the residence of all Rectors, the seat of councils and state administration, housing for an armoury, (gun)powder room and prison. Today, the palace stuns it's visitors thanks to it's recognisable gothic style and inner wealth such as Rector's bedroom, notary room, Republic's costumes, carriage left overs, pottery, pharmaceutical utensils and many more.

A triangular fort with three terraces outside the city walls. The thickness of the walls outside reach 12 m and the walls facing inside only 60 cm. Above the entrance stands an inscription in latin translated as „Freedom is not to be sold for all the treasures in the world.“ Besides being a historical monument, this fort is also known to host various theatrical performances such as Shakespeare's Hamlet.
