Tenby has three beautiful beaches; South Beach, North Beach and Castle Beach as well as the Harbour. South Beach is the beach that adjoins Penally Beach. Amenities include parking (pay & display), toilets, showers, restaurant and beach hut serving coffee & ice creams. Castle Beach can be accessed via town through the castle walls, or when the tide is low you can walk around the cliff from South Beach to Castle Beach. The water is often calmer at Castle Beach than it's neighbour South. St Catherine's Island stands proud of Castle Beach and creates a beautiful little bay on the North side of the beach which is typically crystal clear and calm. The boat to Caldey Island does however moor from here when the tide is low or on rougher sea days. North Beach adjoins Tenby Harbour, boasting a large stretch of sand although due to the high tide the sand is often firmer than Castle or South. The sea is typically very calm and perfect for swimming, when the tide is high the sea remains shallow for a very long way out which is great for warmer water temperatures. Tenby Harbour provides an iconic and stunning view of Tenby, one of the best views is from Cafe Vista's balcony if you are lucky enough to get a seat - there are only three small cafe style tables.

Caldey Island is a small island habited by monks in the monastery as well as a small population of locals. You can easily see the island from Tenby. The monks of Caldey Island produce their own delicious chocolate and fudge as well as soaps and fragrance, all of which you can buy from a couple of shops in Tenby or if you visit the island yourself. A visit to Caldey Island is a brilliant day out for the whole family, although it is very popular in the summer weeks and therefore we recommend you book your trip in advance by purchasing boat tickets from one of the retail huts at the harbour. You may even be lucky enough to spot dolphins on the boat trip across to the island.
