One of the most beautiful coves in the whole Mediterranean, gem of Ogliastra - Cala Goloritzè.
Cala Goloritzè was declared
a "natural monument" by the Sardinia Region in 1993, and then named "Italian National Monument" in 1995.
Hiking route to be booked in advance (seasonal) Distance 3,6 km. Ascent 513m. 1,5 hour to go and 2 to come back.
My personal advice: start hiking early morning, take good trekking shoes, water (2L per person), snacks and don't forget your sunblock ;).

“Grutta 'e Janas” means “cave of fairies, witches” in Sardinian, the pre-nuragic necropolises . excavated in the rock. With unique stalagmite floor that is slightly tilted and decorated with a very complex pattern, the meaning of which remains uncertain Complex engraved depiction, from the late Neolithic (4000-3200 BC). After visit of cave take the stairs to viewpoint, and enjoy the view of Baunei from the top.

The seabed is sandy, rapidly digging, while its waters are blue. The beach offers a beautiful view, thanks also to the view of the island of Ogliastra which rises from the sea 1.5 km from the shore, with a height of 47 meters and extended for 10 hectares. On the highest part of the beautiful mass of pink porphyritic granite, it is the statue of the Madonna of Ogliastra.
