Hiking and Nature
Spectacular Hike to Cat Rock on the Appalachian Trail. Yes, the parking spot's GPS is an oak tree! Hike the trail on the opposite side of the tree to the cliff overlooking Pawling, NY. This 45-minute hike has some strenuous parts, but the view is worth it. You also pass (on an offshoot to your left near the creek) one of the few lean-to shelters on the trail.

Feels like a Norman Rockwell Painting! This quaint village is less than 10 minutes away. Several coffee shops (I love Sunflour!), tacos, pubs, restaurants, gift shops, ice cream... I taught in the local high school for over a decade. It's a very homey and lovely place.
