If looking to do a short, but strenuous hike over 14,000 feet--Quandary Peak is about 40 minutes away from Keystone. I recommend getting there EARLY as trailhead parking fills early during summer--weekends AND weekdays.

A relatively easy 13,000 foot peak to hike near to Keystone (your car does most of the work). Trailhead is at the top of Loveland Pass. It is beautiful year-round!

Great skiing in winter and fun concerts/mountain biking and adventure activities in Summer. You can usually hear live music during the weekends on the deck at the base of the mountain.

A nearby 14,000 foot peak that you can view from Keystone--a relatively easy hike up and you can summit Torrey's too as it is next to Grays. The trailhead is about a 45 minute drive from Keystone (rough road--either walk from highway up the road or bring a 4WD with great clearance).

A spectacular, short hike to an abandoned mining cabin. It mostly follows a road that is packed snow in winter and relatively mellow dirt in summer. The peaks are glorious!

Always lively and fun--visit Main Street Breckenridge for fun shops, tasty restaurants and regular festivals/events. About a 20 minute drive from Keystone. It is one of the oldest towns in Colorado so has great history as a mining town that turned into a ski mecca!

Supermarkets and nearby shops
There is a City Market supermarket~ 5 miles away in Dillon. (300 Dillon Ridge Rd) Go here for main food and amenities shopping. There is an REI sporting goods store next to it and a movie theater behind it. Whole Foods is in Frisco (exit after Dillon) There is also a small grocery store at the gas station at the end of West Keystone Drive. Prices are rather high and selection is limited but it only a mile away. There is also a liquor store directly across Rt 6 (can walk from the condo) Loveland Pass Liquors. Next to it is a great Mexican restaurant (Dos Locos) and a Subway sandwich store.

I highly recommend packing layers. All four seasons have variable weather. It can be sunny and 80 one day and 20 and snowing the next. Or worse that can happen in the same day. Puffy jackets, vests, long pants are great most of the year. Its a rare day that it is too hot. At such a high elevation the sun is very strong so bring a high SPF sunblock and hat during all season. The air is very dry too so be sure to bring plenty of moisturizer and drink loads of water during your visit (the tap water tastes great)!

The condo is stocked only w basic amenities (soap, dishwasher liquid etc). Please remember to bring your own toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste etc). There are extra pillows and blanket inside the coffee table (also pulls out to be a desk for you at couch). In summer, I recommend closing blinds in afternoon--it gets full sun then. There is a box fan under the bed you can place in window if you are warm to pull in the cool night air!
