This is our favorite breakfast restaurant in the entire City. Niels, the owner is a fantastic French baker and chef. It’s located in the heart of 4 Grados Norte, the most vibrating neighborhood in Guatemala City. Basically everything on the menu is delicious, you can’t go wrong!

Relax

Santa Teresita has been an iconic destination for Guatemalans for decades. It is located in Lake Atitlan about 20 miles from Guatemala City. The main attraction is a collection of Termal Pools filled with fresh water that is naturally heated by Volcán Pacaya. You will enjoy a large heated pool all to yourself, they also have termal circuits where you move from different temperature pools, this is said to have great health benefits. Additionally there is a top notch spa, restaurant and hotel. It’s also a 10 minute walk from down town Amatitlán where you will find a traditional Guatemalan Mercado and Park. You can take an Uber for about $15 to get there, depending on traffic it will be about a 1 hour ride.

Finca San Cayetano is an amazing coffee farm surrounded by Volcanoes. It has a great restaurant, and hotel and they offer many activities such as horseback riding, trail walking, bird watching and a coffee tour. The reason why you have to go though is because of the beautiful views of Volcán de Fuego, an active volcano that will surprise you with spectacles of rumbling smoke and fire!

City/town information

Antigua is a beautiful colonial City. Aside from the impressive ruins and the stone roads that remain from back when it was the Capital City around 300 years ago, the city is full of culture, local handicrafts, delicious traditional food and a super cool and chill vibe. You can walk your way around the entire city or ride in Tuk Tuk Taxies for very cheap. Plan to spend a whole day around this amazing town, ideally visit on a weekday as on weekends its usually much more crowded from all the national tourists that visit every week.

Getting Around

4 Grados Norte is a small neighborhood safe to walk around. You can also walk towards zona 10 and 14 using the bike lane that goes through Avenida Reforma and Avenida Las Americas. From 4 Grados Norte to the end of Avenida Las Americas there are about 3 and a half miles. For the resto of the city we recommend you use Uber, works really well.
