These historic buildings are open to the public and have been brought to Fairplay from various regions in Colorado. Authentic and informative.
Sightseeing
Narrow dirt road with minimal elevation gain (old railroad bed). Spectacular views and hiking trails. Can be crowded on weekends especially. You will pass a historic water tank and then arrive at the summit where you can walk through a deserted mining town. The road continues to Highway 285 where you can head south towards Fairplay and make it a round trip back to Summit County through Alma. I usually turn around at the summit.
