Huckleberry LaneRuss creek road is about a 5-minute walk from the Oakwood Retreat. It is a hiking and ATV trail. If you follow the trail completely, it is 5km one way.
You can also take a shorter loop by turning left at the first crossing at Dunbar Road. There is an old Dunbar cemetery where many people who settled the area.
Follow Dunbar to Covert Hill Road, turn left again, and follow the road until you're back onto Clarkson Rd. Turn right onto Clarkson and walk until you reach the driveway up to the Oakwood Retreat.

Poison Ivy
This cabin is located in the country, so beware of poison ivy! It grows everywhere. Stick to the walking trails and you'll be fine.

You need to bring your own vehicle
This is a rural area. Therefore, public transit, cabs, and rideshares are scarce, if present at all. The only way to get around is to drive yourself.

Bug Spray with DEET
We recommend you bring bug spray with DEET as the ingredient is one of the only ways to keep ticks and other bugs away. We also recommend bringing socks and running shoes as well as long pants if you're planning on hiking off-trail.
