Stephen R. Gregg Park is our favorite local park that has the waterfront promenade with views of Newark Bay and beautiful sunsets. You will observe fishermen, sailboats and cargo ships, planes landing across the bay. If you visit there during the day time, make sure you go all the way towards to north, where there’s a 40-acre wetlands preserve called “Richard A. Rutkowski Park”. There you will find a natural amphitheater with a quarter mile wooden walkway through a bird sanctuary, a peaceful place to observe nature. Great for a quiet walk, jogging or to spend time with the family!

Only 5 min drive (or around 20 min walk) you can reach Hudson River Waterfront Walkway next to the Bayonne Golf Club that could not find on the map. This is where explorer Henry Hudson, the English captain of the Dutch ship “Halve Maen (Half Moon)” dropped anchor on September 2, 1609. Walk along the walkway with river and hills on one side, the greatest city in the world is on the other.

Our favorite restaurant in Bayonne! They make authentic Mexican gastronomy in a great price. Our favorite dish is “Churrasco Asado” (grilled skirt steak served with Pico de Gallo, we suggest medium-rare). We also love their beef tongue, tripe, and grilled steak tacos. If you’re a fan of seafood, their grilled tilapia and grilled shrimps tacos won’t let you down. Give a try their weekend special “Pozole” (hominy and pork soup) if you go there during the weekend. Their soup is so good that we can have it every weekend.
