Protesters Falls is a waterfall located in the World Heritage Listed Nightcap National Park and named after the Terania Creek protests which took place in the late 1970's. These protests are what saved this beautiful rainforest and is the reason that it stills exists today.
Enjoy a picturesque 1.4km return walk through this magnificent rainforest, venturing through the tall trees and listening to the sweet sounds of the running creek. At the end of the track you will arrive at the base of the waterfall.
Swimming is not permitted in this area.

There are four beautiful walks that you can do from the Picnic Area at Rocky Creek Dam. They are designed so that you can experience different aspects of the Rainforest Reserve. For each of these walks, just follow the symbols and arrows on the post. Follow Magill along the Water Dragon Walk. Djanbung will lead you through the Platypus Walk and Gadjul will take you on the Scrub Turkey Track. [These names for the creatures are in Wi-abul, the language of the Widjabul custodians of this land.] Please note: you can walk across the spillway of the dam (a large area of gently sloping concrete on the other side of the dam wall) unless the dam is full and water is flowing over it.

The view from Minyon Falls lookout is the best in the area; not only of the falls themselves, but on a clear day you might be lucky to see all the way out to the coast.
From the lookout, watch the cascades flow over Minyon Falls to a deep palm-shaded gorge roughly 100m below. The tops of the cliffs are forested with Australian eucalypts, like blackbutt and scribbly gum. At the base of the falls is a beautiful natural pool that was made for swimming.
Minyon Falls is a great place for a quick stop, but if you’d like to spend longer at this pretty place, there's a picnic area with plenty of shady trees, barbecues and picnic tables. There are also a couple of bushwalks that leave from the picnic area, including Boggy Creek walk, which takes you to Rummery Park campground, and Minyon Falls walking track, which takes you down to the base of the falls.
