Wonderful day trip, jump on the train at Meadowbank and then catch the ferry! Thoroughly recommend walking to McKenzie Bay first then to the summit rather than following the masses straight to the top. The lava caves are neat. Take a torch and make time at the end for wharf jumps while waiting for the ferry!
