Sightseeing
Walk or bike to Lake Dillon to kayak, canoe, sail, paddle board, play at the sandy beach, or enjoy the playground and restaurant. There is also a great hiking/running/mountainbiking trail that you can get on right from the house that goes along the edge of the lake. It's called the Peninsula Trail. We use the trail for a walk from the house, a snowshoe, or an easy mountain bike ride.

Breck is such a fun and cute town. There are tons of tempting stores, great restaurants, lots going on all the time. There is lots of hiking and biking, and of course, the ski mountain.

Neighborhoods
Frisco is such a cute town. There are good restaurants, cute little shops, an ice cream shop we like to bike to, and 3 terrific playgrounds at Walter Byron Park, the marina, and the elementary school (they call it the Frisco Funground!).

You can make it short or long depending on your mood (or your kids' energy). It's not my favorite moutain bike ride because it's technical, but some people do it.

This is my favorite summer hike. The wildflowers are great in July and beginning of August. Plus, you cross some cute streams and the view from the top is fabulous.

This is a close by and pretty hike to a small lake filled with lily pads in the summer. I've also snowshoed this trail in the winter. It's nice and close, not too crowded, and not too long of a hike.

The Summit County Rec Bike Path is so great. It's a scenic, paved path where you can bike alone, with a friend, or your family to your heart's content. You can bike on it from the house to Breckenridge, Copper, Keystone, and even Vail. When I'm in good biking shape, I like to bike to Copper and then to the top of Vail pass and then back home. My favorite is to ride the path from the house around Lake Dillon. As a family, we like to bike along the edge of the lake to Dillon, have a picnic, and then bike home.

About a 20 minute drive from the house, Vail has tons to do in the winter and the summer. I love it in the summer for the botanic gardens, the bike path along the creek, and the town itself. It's fun to walk around Vail Village with it's water features, shops, and unique Swiss Alps-looking buildings.

Skiing
I am not a huge downhill skier anymore, but I grew up skiing at Breck back when it was a little ski mountain. I hear it's terrific.
