The best way to experience natural Muskoka and one of my favourite places. Hardy Lake is entirely within the park meaning no cottages or boats and plenty of wildlife. In the summer the best time to see wildlife is first thing in the morning.
There are plenty of places along the main trail where you can go swimming from or sit on a granite outcropping to enjoy a picnic.
The main trail is about 9km in length and goes around the outside of the lake. Great for hiking or trail-running. Moderate difficulty.

It's not uncommon to see experience astronomer's set up a telescope or professional photographers setting up for an evening of star-gazing. By day this is also a great place to go hiking or jogging along the various trails. Most trails are 2-4 km and easy to moderate difficulty.

By day this is also a great place to go hiking or jogging along the various trails. Most trails are 2-4 km and easy to moderate difficulty.
