Canoeing
Take a beautiful lazy trip down the river, which is incredibly calm. There’s plenty of pull offs that are private and allow you to take a dip and relax.
To access the river put in, go onto rte 16 from the cabin, take a right onto Boyscout Road (if you’ve hit the bridge you’ve gone too far) and a mile and a half up the road, the put in has signs. Keep in mind you will have to walk back to your car, parked at the put in, to go pick up your canoe at the end of the river, which is just under the bridge.
Alternatively, you can park and put in at the end of the river by the bridge on rte 16. You would paddle up the calm river and turn around and paddle back to where you parked.
Kennebago River

The boat launch is on the right before the bridge on rte 16 coming from the cabin. Go right on the lake and this area is very calm and great for a lazy canoe ride. Go left on the lake and it opens to a bigger section that leads to Mooselookmeguntic Lake.

Swimming and beach
Rangeley Lake
For a small nightly fee you can rent a site here. We usually book a site (all have a beach and you can even book an island a canoe’s ride away) and head to our spot to chill for the day. The sites are very secluded from other sites as well and you feel like you have your own private beach.
Stephen Phillips Memorial Preserve Camping Area
