Bitton Avenue is a Victorian terraced street 5-10 minutes walk from town the centre, beaches and railway station. The area enjoys access to Bitton park, with its orangery, public bowling green, lawns and open spaces. Bitton House located in the grounds and originally home of Lord Exmouth, is now home to Teignmouth town council. A petrol station, Tesco Express and other amenities can be found close by.

Sightseeing

If you cross over the bridge from Teignmouth you find yourself in the picturesque village of Shaldon, with its traditional Georgian architecture, thatched cottages, riverside pubs and eateries. The village can also be accessed by the oldest foot Ferry in the country from Teignmouths back beach. Not to be missed is a visit to the Ness Beach through the cliffs via the famous smugglers tunnel.

Powderham Castle is the home of the Earl of Devon. It is a fortified manor house which is open to the public for tours. Throughout the summer it is an open air venue for various musicians and artists......so well worth checking their website for availability.
