Field to Fork is possibly one of the best butchers in Sydney. Whilst not the cheapest, the quality of their meat is consistently excellent.

Iggy's Bread has possibly the best croissants in Sydney....some say Australia! It's included in this guide for The Mitchell in North Bondi because you can do the Bondi to Bronte Coastal Walk and then when you get to Bronte Beach continue walking up the hill to Iggy's on Macpherson Street. But you'll need to get there by 9:30am because they usually sell out.

If you're a lover of fish and other seafood don't miss North Bondi Fish when you come to visit. The quality and presentation of the fish that's served, the views and seemingly constant, fun buzz make it a perennial favourite. There's a great wine and cocktail selection too.

Sean's is a Bondi institution. Having been around since the 90's, it's kitsch yet funky interior belies the stunning food that comes from it's kitchen. Most of the produce comes from the owner's farm in the Megalong Valley (Blue Mountains area) and is organic and incredibly flavoursome. Excellent vegetarian options are a staple and their own, farm-grown chicken is to die for.

The Fish Shop on Seven Ways is a new addition to North Bondi. If you think you'll enjoy clever variations of a classic fish shop menu, give this place a go. It's only a 6 minute walk from The Mitchell.

Walking, Admiring & Exercising

The North Bondi gold course is perched on the edge of the cliffs and provides truly spectacular views of the Tasman Sea, local Bondi Beach area and Sydney city. There aren't any fences so you can enter and exit where you please. Make sure to look-out for the indigenous rock carvings. Sunset and sunrise are usually the most spectacular times to visit. Go out the front gate of The Mitchell and turn left, then first left on O’Donnell St and keep walking straight, all the way to the top of the hill.

Go out the front gate of The Mitchell, turn left, then follow Mitchell St until you hit Brighton Blvd, turn left then stay on Brighton to the end. If the weather is calm and you're a strong swimmer, the rocks on the south side of the Ray O'Keefe Reserve is a magical spot to take a dip. It's also one of the best spots in Sydney to watch the sunset over Bondi Beach and the city.

The Rodney Reserve is a strip of grassy parkland running along the clifftop at Dover Heights. It's a 1.7km walk from The Mitchell and well worth it. Walk up to the Golf Course and turn left on Military Rd. Stay on Military Rd until Dover Rd (then turn right).

The coastal walk between Bondi & Bronte is an icon of the area and justifiably so. There are many sets of stairs so it's not an easy walk, but it should be manageable by people with varying degrees of fitness as it has lots of rest stops where you can sit and watch the ocean...and maybe a whale if you're lucky! It's easy to find - walk to North Bondi Beach, head south and follow the coast.

The South Head Heritage Trail is a lovely, easy to walk, well maintained path that takes you from Watsons Bay out to the end of the southern headland of Sydney Harbor. One of Australia's first lighthouses and several WWII battlements add some history to the spectacular views of sparkling Sydney Harbor and the North Shore.

The best way to get around Bondi is to walk.

The easiest way to get into the city is with an Uber which takes around 15 minutes. The 379 bus route which connects with Bondi Junction and Bronte stops just down the street. If you have a car there is unrestricted parking on Mitchell and the surrounding streets. Another option for getting into the City or other parts of Sydney is to catch the bus to Bondi Junction and a train from there.
