If you are arriving by train in Brasov, I recommend you to use bus or to call an Uber or a local taxi in front of Kronwell hotel to be sure that you will pay the right price.

The mountain that it is in the middle of the city, you will see it for sure. the little "hollywood" -Brasov it is writen on it. In any season you can go up and see the wonderful view. You can hike(it is easy even on winter if there is not a lot of snow) or you can use telecabin (be careful at the program- short in winter, long in summer).

Yes it is fancy and easy, but the quality and quantity in not very well. At the same money you can eat very well at at least 1km arround. This is not a rule for all restaurants from the center, search on google and see which had more than 4 starts and try one. You couldbe lucky.

Too many properties to decide which is good and which is not. A price under 120 lei/night in center I will not recommend. Be sure you read more than 1 review for the property a lot of them had problems that will disturb your stay. Do not be afraid of the small, dark entrances, the houses are very close and build in different periods of time so that can be a scary entrance but you can find a great property inside.

It is a mountain city so even in summer over the night can be cold. Between November and April keep close winter clothes. In Spring and Autumn are sometimes rainy days but if you do not bring umbrella you can buy one from stores at a decent price (maximum 50 RON- around 10 euro)

To save a lot of money do not buy many things from small markets. A bread, water etc it is ok, for serious shopping go to big stores. Sometimes using a taxi and buy from there will be cheaper that buy next to you. Again available just for multiple shopping.

This infrastructure is not very developed. Usually you do not have facilities for traveling with kids, harder with infants. Just ask the people where you are about some facilities around. It is easy to find a charging for electric car than to find a place to change the kid. (this info just to make an idea)

Some people (more) did not understand English so to find something can be annoying. Use this short words to find basic places: baie - toilet banca - bank (or the name of the bank directly) bancomat - ATM ( money machine) bani - money spital - hospital urgenta - emergency (112 the national number) supermarket- supermarket mancare- food strada - street ajutor - help wifi gratuit- free wifi ma scuzati, unde ma aflu? - excuse me, where am I? Do not try to memorize them, just keep offline in your phone or on a paper and show to the people when you need something.

Yes, it is true. The speed of the internet is the best from Europe but we do not have many places with free WIFI. Be prepared for this with offline maps and documents. You have free WIFI (based on a pass) in restaurants, hotels, rented houses.
