The Trent Port Historical Society was established in 1980 and was originally located in the Dufferin Centre, it moved to the Trenton Town Hall - 1861 when the Dufferin Centre was closed, and the local police force moved out of the Hall. The Society was instrumental in the preservation and renovation of its new home at 55 King Street.
