M Street is home to the most shopping opportunities in DC. It is lined with a variety of restaurants all within steps of the apartment. For nightlife, there are multiple bars and clubs throughout the area. Filomena Restaurant, the best Italian food in DC, is on M Street.

Georgetown waterfront is an additional area in the neighborhood that hosts a water taxi, restaurants, additional night life, a movie theater, kayaking, and a park area.
This area is a five to ten minute walk from the Townhouse.

National Mall
This should be your first tourist stop in DC. This park holds the nation's monuments and top museums. Don't forget to stop by the national archives to see the founding documents.

Adams Morgan has excellent restaurants during the day. The nightlife is very lively in this area. It's home to Jack Rose, a top Whiskey bar destination in the United States.

Additional restaurants and bars are located in this neighborhood. I'd recommend Lavagna restaurant followed by a walk along East Capitol Street.

Restaurants and bars are located along 14th Street. The best known restaurant is Le Diplomate, however there are additional restaurants nearby. Blackjack is a good bar to go to.

Metro
DC Metro trains run Monday – Thursday, 5 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.; Friday, 5 a.m. to 1 a.m.; Saturday, 7 a.m. to 1 a.m.; Sunday, 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.
During peak operating hours (weekdays, 5-9:30 a.m. and 3-7 p.m.), trains usually arrive every 8 minutes. At stations served by more than one line, trains will arrive every 3-4 minutes. At off-peak times, trains come every 12 minutes, while later trains typically arrive every 15-20 minutes.

DC Circulator (bus)

The National Archives is home to the original Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and Bill of Rights signed by the founding fathers. It is the most important location in Washington DC and the country. The political documents located here have influenced world events for centuries.

White House Tour and Capitol Hill Tour
Tours of these locations are available, but it is best to book in advance. It is difficult to get a White House tour, but it is possible. If you reach out to your local representative in advance, tours of Capitol Hill are easier to find.
