Food scene
The oldest Italian restaurant in Chicagoland. It's been in the same family for three generations. The food, service, and ambiance reflects that history. Trevor's favorite dish is the chicken cacciatore. Margaret likes the tortellini soup (handmade tortellini!). Or any pasta dish.
It also has a great bar that is fun to sit at and enjoy a glass of wine (solo or with a friend).

Slyce is Margaret's favorite place in Highwood. They have coal-fired pizza with crave-able topping combinations (the one with figs is Margaret's favorite) and HUGE delicious salads. Four people can share one salad. Or one person can eat one salad over a few days.

Actually just walk right past this place. Our two favorite restaurants are right next to Miramar (Longitud315 and El Buren) but for whatever reason they don't have listings on AirBnb. If you're going to pay for a top dollar meal, definitely get the steak at Longitud315.

The big tent outside 28 Mile has a regular dueling piano music act--and other cover bands. It's a fun vibe and you can try our town's own vodka--it's really good!

This is a local favorite. Toad's often sets up a big tent in back for music on the weekends and always has whichever game is popular on.
