I moved to Mount Martha in 1999 and raised my children in this scenic seaside village. There are lots of lovely cafes and Beach South is great for kids to search through the rock pools, build sand castles and paddle.

Nepean Nation Park, Portsea, is situated on the southern tip of the Mornington Peninsula where the historic military structures and tunnels can be found, and unmatched views of Port Phillip Bay and the South Australia Coast..
There are bike tours through the park which let you explore the parks coastal trails at your own pace.
My children loved visiting Fort Nepean which was a defensive facility built in1873 to protect the narrow entrance to Port Phillip Bay. The barracks and tunnels are great fun for the kids to explore but make sure you catch the shuttle bus provided as its a long walk for small children.
