Charity
Oaksey House is the rehabilitation centre for injured jockeys in Lambourn run by the Injured Jockeys Fund charity. Visitors are more than welcome to pop in and there is a shop where you can buy all sorts of things to support the charity. You might even see a well known jockey working out in the gym!

Food scene
The Queens Arms is actually in East Garston, not Hungerford and is one of the 'racing' pubs around here. In other words, you might just spot Nicky Henderson or see Luke Harvey propping up the bar. James & Co run this place brilliantly and the food is excellent. You will need to book!

Great pub, excellent food. Spot the photo of my other half above the bar alongside all the other Lambourn racehorse trainers. A lovely picture of Many Clouds near the entrance after he won The Grand National. Worth popping in to soak up the atmosphere.

This place did have a Michelin star when I visited last. Tasting menu was superb. Book in advance to avoid disappointment. Quite £££££ but in my opinion very good and worth the drive over to Bedwyn.

Another great gastropub. Worth the drive over to Woolstone. Large car park, great beer garden, booking essential.

What can I say? The food is outstanding, if not a bit on the pricey side... great for a Sunday roast. Definitely a firm favourite. About a 20 minute drive away.

High StreetThis is much more of a stable lads pub, but nice for a quiet,early evening drink.
Neighborhoods
You can walk or cycle for miles along the famous Ridgeway, and through some of the most spectacular countryside. Drive through Lambourn towards Wantage and after the Seven Barrows turning you'll climb a hill and drive past Charlie Hills and Nicky Henderson's gallops.... the next left hand turn (past Harry Whittington's yard) takes you to the Ridgeway. Park up and decide which direction you're going to wander down it.
Alternatively, turn left out of our gate, drive towards Ashbury past Ashdown House and at the top of the hill you'll see cars parked. You can join the Ridgeway here too.

The most beautiful 'chateau'. Only a five minute drive from us. Occupied by Pete Townsend of The Who, it's National Trust owned and open to the public on Saturdays at 2pm. The grounds are absolutely stunning and open all the time if you just want a wander and to look at the exterior. Those rocks in the paddocks at the front? Well the devil stood on the hill opposite and turned the sheep to stone (of course!).

Love, love, love this place. Feels like you're on the top of the world. The horse has just been re-chalked, so it's looking extra white. Oh, and of course it featured in ITV's drama 'A Confession' rather recently!
