State Park
There are daily events in the park every day such as Hay Rides on the Beach, Turtle Habitat Exploration and Ghost Crab Walks in the evening – please go to the park web site to get up to date calendar of events and learn more about the park that is literally in the back yard! : https://destateparks.com/Beaches/CapeHenlopen
• Go to the Beach with great waves at Herring Point
• In the evenings, walk to the children’s play park – great swings, climbing structure, slides and play area for children and toddlers; also picnic tables;
• Rent bikes at the BIKE BARN – free rentals and helmets- about 4 blocks walk from house
• Go to the Nature Center and enjoy the mini aquarium and pet the sting rays
• Play basketball on the large court- next to children’s play park
• Play Frisbee golf
• Play Volleyball
• Ghost Crab Walks
• Hike and Ride the woods trails
• Ride through the park on Gardens Pond trail/Bidden by Way all the way to Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk – this takes about 35 minutes and is the most amazing ride over wetlands. Just ask state park guards in the guard shack or in the nature center for more details. Please remember to take a lock for the bikes.
