Sandleigh Tea Rooms (National Trust), whether you’re on holiday looking for a taste of the country or a lucky local – nothing quite hits the spot like a cream tea. With fresh clotted cream, strawberries and jam along with freshly baked scones what more could you wish for. Great following a walk on Baggy Point, and whiles you are there you can browse a collection of work for sale by local artists and craftsmen, at The Oystercatcher shop. www.sandleighcroyde.co.uk

The Beach

If you don’t live near the sea then it is easy to forget that beach and surf life is driven by the tide times and the conditions! You will find a tide time booklet in the property to help you plan your days, and you can also find the times using this website https://magicseaweed.com/Croyde-Beach-Surf-Report/7/Tide/ There is a small shop and cafe at Croyde Beach and it is only a short walk to the village, or one of the Campsites where you can buy provisions, drinks and ice creams and of course buckets and spades! Parking is available near the beach for a daily fee. This can be accessed either at Down End car park, from here it is steep walk onto the beach. Alternatively there is beach parking at the end of Moor Lane where access to the beach is gentler. There is lots on offer at Croyde Beach, dunes to explore, rockpooling, surfing (see our Surfing guidebook) and beach volley ball to name a few. This is a lifeguarded beach and we urge you to take notice of the safety signs at the beach entrances, so you can focus on having fun safely.
