Shopping

The best store in Steamboat for souvenirs, gifts and t-shirts. Located downtown between 8th and 9th street on the sunny side of the main street. Full disclosure, my husband has owned this store for 35 plus years. I could be biased.

I love this ski shop. It is really an outdoor store that has everything you need need for every season. I rented my kids skis from them from the time they were 2 years old. They also have great clothes that aren't just for outdoor activities. Check them out on the corner of US40 and Pine Grove Road.

This is the original hot spring used by the town folk in the early 1900s. Now it is a world class fitness center with a lap pool, water slide and natural fed hot spring pools. Located in downtown this is a must stop.

I love this place for its different trails. Harder ones through the trees and easier ones in the open. The best part are the elk that like to hang out there. You can also snowshoe there.

Special Events

This is the original ski hill for Steamboat and the home of the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club. Located in downtown Steamboat it is open daily for skiing. The highlight of the winter for this little hill is the Winter Carnival. For five days in early February we embrace all things winter. Snow sculpting, cowboys on horses pulling kids on skies down main street and a Fireworks/light show on the hill. It is truly magical.
