Discovery Trail is a paved corridor spanning through the community, connecting the East and West sides of Abbotsford. This extensive trail system is perfect for all season activity including walking, running, rollerblading and cycling. The trail system winds through natural habitat and includes areas with forest, ponds, creeks and lush meadows. Interpretive signage along portions of the trail, as well as well-marked lookout spots, make the trail a great place for observing, photographing and learning about the community’s indigenous ecosystem. Trail: multi-use paved trails with level to moderate grades Amenities: parking lot, picnic tables, benches, public washrooms

Cultus Lake is a lake, associated community and provincial park in the Fraser Valley region of British Columbia, Canada. It is the source of the Sweltzer River. The lake itself is warm, and the area has become a popular recreation destination with ample opportunities for fishing, water skiing, wind surfing, and hiking. Cultus Lake is located 11 kilometers south of the Chilliwack River, near the city of Chilliwack and approximately 80 kilometers east of Vancouver. In 1950, Cultus Lake became a Provincial park of British Columbia. Cultus Lake covers an area of 656 hectares, evenly on either side of the lake. At one time the lake had a sawmill and booming ground until it became a provincial park in the 1950s. Cultus Lake Water Park is a regional favorite.

The keystone annual event – The Abbotsford International Airshow, is an aviation festival that has grown well beyond its borders over the past 5 decades. In 1970, the Government of Canada designated Abbotsford as “Canada’s National Airshow.” With a role from very early on as a significant stop on the ‘Airshow Circuit,’ Abbotsford has distinguished itself as an event focused on aviation excellence, aerospace advancement and community participation. The Abbotsford International Airshow is organized by a small core staff and the participation of 1000+ volunteers and service group members. As a not-for-profit event, proceeds from each year’s event benefit numerous charities and community groups throughout the Fraser Valley.
