Sightseeing
TANAH LOT
Best with a moterbike/scooter. Or with pak Gusti; the driver.
Of course possible at any moment of the day but we would suggest early morning.
Drive first into the direction of Tanah Lot.
Visit the Temple while it’s still calm and not so warm.
When you arrive don’t mind all the tourist attractions; nice market, just go into the direction of the Temple.
Take the stairs down!
When you go right, you will find another small temple, and a rock with a big hole and a nice view on the surf.
If you go left and take a little walk between the stalls, slightly going up, you’ll find empty terraces but with a stunning view on the whole Temple. A perfect picture spot!
Going back (or on the way) you can stop at ‘Echo Beach’, a professional surfers beach with a nice place called the ‘Beach House’.
They have a perfect lunch/dinner, but also a nice spot for sunset.

Drive into the direction of Padang Padang, or Bingin Beach. Relax there and enjoy the surf. Just watching is also fun! If you go early do lunch there. At Bingin beach Warung Kelly is nice, but be aware that the way down to the beach has about 140 steps!
After some sun drive to Uluwatu to the temple of ‘Hannoman’ , the monkey god and wonder around. With sunset, be there around 5 pm, join the performance including the ‘Monkey Dance’ wich tells you the story of Hannoman and has a stunning view over the cliff. This takes about 1,5 hours.
For diner go to Jimbaran for some fresh fish. Pick your own fish and have a seat right on the beach. If your keen on picking your own fish fresh from the Market ask Gusti (the driver) he knows the place where and Warungs who’ll prepare it and are ok. (no tourist price)
