Memphis is a city on the Mississippi River in southwest Tennessee, famous for the influential strains of blues, soul and rock 'n' roll that originated there. Elvis Presley, B.B. King and Johnny Cash recorded albums at the legendary Sun Studio, and Presley’s Graceland mansion is a popular attraction. Other music landmarks include the Rock 'n' Soul Museum, Blues Hall of Fame and Stax Museum of American Soul Music.
All you need to do is take a stroll down Beale Street’s neon row. Hear music spilling out of clubs and restaurants like Rum Boogie Café, B.B. King’s Blues Club, Silky O’Sullivan’s or the Hard Rock Café. Beale Street is serious about its music, and jam sessions at many of these clubs go deep into the night. For a good time, grab a drink, soak up the sounds and throw a few bucks in the tip jar for the Beale Street Flippers.

New Daisy Theatre, located at the north end of Beale Street, is home to visiting national alternative acts like The Raconteurs, The Strokes and Cat Power. The New Daisy is the perfect size venue: big enough to bring well-known artists, yet intimate enough to feel like a club. And at the historic Orpheum Theatre, rightfully dubbed the "South’s Finest Theatre," you'll find everything from Broadway productions to famous comedians.
Every May, the Beale Street Music Festival brings major headliners like Ed Shereen, Neil Young, Snoop Dogg, Red Hot Chili Peppers and John Legend to Tom Lee Park at the end of Beale Street on the Mississippi River. The festival launches a month of festivities citywide known as Memphis in May.

Graceland is a mansion on a 13.8-acre estate in Memphis, Tennessee, United States, once owned by the singer and actor Elvis Presley. His daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, has been the owner of Graceland since the passing of her father. It is located at 3764 Elvis Presley Boulevard in the vast Whitehaven community, about 9 miles (14.5 km) from Downtown, less than four miles (6 km) north of the Mississippi border and only a 15 minute drive from here!
Admission Costs. Basic admission to the mansion for adults is around $40 per person. However, you may add self-guided tours of Elvis's two custom airplanes, automobile museum, jumpsuits exhibit, and Private Presley exhibit.

The Memphis Zoo has completed more than $90 million in renovations and expansion, since the early 1990s. The Zoo's animal inhabitants reside in one-of-a-kind exhibits like Once Upon A Farm, Commercial Appeal Cat Country, Primate Canyon, Animals of the Night, Northwest Passage and CHINA.
In April 2003, the Memphis Zoo became one of only four zoos in the United States to exhibit giant pandas. Giant pandas "Ya Ya" and "Le Le" live in the Zoo’s exhibit, CHINA – a brand new, three-acre facility that features animals that are indigenous to China, complete with authentic Chinese gardens and architecture.
The Memphis Zoo is home to the world’s longest living hippopotamus, “Adonis," who died in 1965 at the age of 54. The male hippo sired approximately 25 offspring in his lifetime, giving the Zoo the title of “hippo capital of the world.”
An accredited member of the American Zoo and Aquarium Association, the Memphis Zoo works cooperatively with animal facilities and organizations around the world, in order to further its mission of preserving wildlife through conservation, education and research.
