Why Glenlaird?

We derived the name Glenlaird from a house called Glenlair – WHY? Glenlair was the home of the eminent Scottish scientist, Professor James Clerk Maxwell. He was most famous for writing the equations for electromagnetism, known as Maxwell's equations. These converted Michael Faraday's physical ideas into mathematical form and established the concept of the electromagnetic field. Later Heinrich Hertz proved the existence of the electromagnetic waves. Subsequently Albert Einstein worked on them, leading to his theory of special relativity.
