Great bar, friendly bartenders, and great dinner and brunch for those who want to explore what the Buffalo food scene has to offer. The locally custom-roasted coffee is particularly good here, and if the shop is open you can purchase some to take home.
A former psychiatric ward, the space has undergone an extensive renovation and is decorated with a rotating selection of art from local artists, and is well worth a walk around inside.

A fabulous food and wine spot just across the street from the Hotel Henry campus, and therefore in easy walking distance from the Albright Knox and Burchfield Penney. Daniela dared to offer a unique and elegant take on pizza in Buffalo -a notorious pizza town- and absolutely pulled it off!

Broderick Park offers a beautiful walk along the Niagara River. Tucked away behind a brick paved street and across a beautiful metal draw bridge, there is easy parking on site. Often the rowing teams are out, and there are always lots of birds to see as well.

1300 Elmwood AveTechnically a bar, I added this to the arts and culture section because of the excellent stream of live music that is always flowing through this venue. Nestled among Buffalo's old silos, it offers several comfortable indoor and outdoor spaces to explore. Walks along the paths outside will take you to a huge oak tree in a small clearing, which would be blissfully idyllic for a small picnic. The cocktails are excellent, and the beers and snacks are kept very reasonably priced. Vegetarians and meat lovers alike should try the excellent eggplant wings!
