There is ice skating by the lake in the winter and roller skating during the summer. Alcohol is technically not permitted but if you want to pack a picnic, bring plastic cups and just don't be rowdy about it and you should be fine, though I can't guarantee it, I do it with friends all the time. I would advise picnicing near one of the bathrooms which are open all day (The whole park is on google maps). During the summer months look up Smorgusburg (food) & Prospect Park Bandshell (music). www.prospectpark.org
