We are a little snobby when it comes to Chinese food and Ivy's is the best we've found in the Springs so far! They cover the American favorites but also have some more authentic selections that haven't disappointed us.

This is a fun place to visit. The building is an old school transformed into a brewery. In the daytime it's a bakery, cafe and coffee shop (yes, coffee snob approved) and at night it turns into a bar with great cocktails, and local beer selection. So, it's a great family hangout spot for a morning coffee and cinnamon roll OR a fun adult night out.

Great New-York-style pizza (My husband is from New Jersey, so Pizza Hut doesn't cut it in our house) This is a super casual eat-in or carryout pizza option. I can't imagine anyone not loving a slice from Joey's!

Ok so this local Italian restaurant isn't necessarily close to our house, but it's located in Old Colorado City which is a really cute part of town to walk through (it's basically just one street). Paravicini's is perfect for a romantic date night or a delicious lunch with a small group. It's by far the best Italian restaurant in the Springs and we try to go as often as we can.

Paved pathways make it easy for strollers or families with littles, but there's some "off the beaten path" options for the older ones to explore and climb on. Grab coffee and stroll through or pack a picnic and make a day of it. There's a lot of cuteness and charm in nearby Manitou Springs if you wanted to grab a meal afterwards.

We've made it an annual tradition around Christmas time to dress up our little girls and walk around the hotel (they always build a huge unique gingerbread house) and treat them to a dessert.

Colorado Spring's own 14-ner. The drive up is breathtakingly gorgeous. The donuts at the top are a "thing" but bring a jacket and check the weather before venturing. Weather changes quickly at the peak and sometimes they'll close access to the top due to extreme weather.

Parks & Nature
A park in the middle of a forest. Lots of green to run around on and playgrounds for the kids. Also there are trails all throughout the grounds of this extensive park. It's only 5 minutes from our house, so we go here frequently!

We always recommend Helen Hunt Falls as a great "beginner level" hike for non-natives. Kids can handle this one and there's a cute gift shop/resource center at the base to offer further guidance.
