Blackmore Farm has classic, beautiful buildings along with a great little cafe and farm shop. It's a 5 minute drive, so easy to check out.

You can walk here from our house, it's a varied, attractive route and takes just over an hour.

This is fantastically scenic (just one option of many) and if you walk or drive to the foot of the hills into Crowcombe Village, there's a pub named The Carew Arms serving great ales and it has the best beer garden in the area.

It's gorgeous.. you can park up the top so it's easy to take children, or only walk a short distance if you want to. You can also go for a long hike if you prefer! At the bottom of a track near the carpark which says' unsuitable for motor vehicles (it pretty much is), you will find The Blue Ball Inn pub. Delicious food, great drinks and dogs allowed in the bar. Win!

Street is great for discounts! They have Clarks Village and a whole host of other brands. It's about 25-30 mins from Spaxton but worth it if you like shopping.

This is actually a really nice cinema - only 10 mins from our house and the tickets are really cheap. You can even get a mug of tea or coffee (among the usual refreshments) to take in with you.

This is the smallest city in England, with a beautiful cathedral and abbey and various pretty walks. It has an amazing market on Saturdays too! It takes an hour to drive there but well worth it.
