Fishing Spots
Not a lot of people fish here. There are probably more fish here then around the Government Dock. I personally caught a large mouth bass in the spring. I have seen people catch Northern Pike. Easy shore fishing from Circle Lake Park. There is no boat launch to this lake, but I have seen people out on the lake with small boats. on the Western shore there is a small dirt lot, and I believe that is were people are launching boats.
Circle Lake

Swimming
You can walk here from our place. The swimming is good. If the weather has been warm for a few weeks, the water will be a decent temperature. There is a large children's play area, and two beach volleyball courts. It's near the Government Dock which has an Icecream place. It is near an open park with band shell, the parking lot has a chip wagon during the day. Being on a large lake, weather conditions can be from glass still to heavy waves depending on wind speed and direction.

Marathon Beach

This beach is further from our place and would be more of a car or cycling trip. There is less places immediately there, but that also means less people. It is near a baseball park and short walk to a childrens play area.
Amelia Beach

A nice place to swim. Trout Lake is where North Bay draws most of its water so you know the water quality is good. There is a more secluded beach nearby I recommend more, but this beach is where we go when that one is full. It is a distance away from us. I more recommend to go here by car. Park in Armstrong Park's parking lot.
Olmsted Beach

There is a more secluded beach nearby I recommend more, but this beach is where we go when that one is full. It is a distance away from us. I more recommend to go here by car. Park in Armstrong Park's parking lot.
This is a very secluded small beach. A local favorite swimming spot. The deeper water stays cool in summer. There is a floating platform for kids to jump off of into the water.

Vegan Dining a short walk away. They are only open until 3 p.m. so not an evening destination. The owner and staff are very friendly. The food is generally made from scratch.

They often have family specials that work out in price compatible to fast food, but I find the quality better. I recommend ordering ahead and picking up. The breakfast here is very good too. It's a short drive away.

Very close by our place. Decent poutine. Owner/staff very friendly. They have a very unique soft serve machine with a lot of flavor choices.

Just a bit of a walk. They often have walk in specials. You can order online before going there and it will be close to done by the time you get there... unless it's a game night. When we first moved into our own place here in North bay this was my favorite "I don't want to cook tonight" place. They do have delivery though.
