Stillwater is a wonderful award winning restaurant with a beautiful outlook across the Tamar River. The breakfast here is delicious and prepare to be impressed by their dinner menu. Treat yourself :)

Mud Bar is a great place to go with friends for some drinks and they do delicious asian infused dinners. Set at the end of the board walk it is a nice place for a stroll along the Tamar River.

Levee Food Co never disappoints. We tend to go here with the kids or larger groups. The menu is a crowd pleaser and the meals are generous and fairly priced. Levee Food Co is also located along the Board Walk which offers great views down the Tamar River.

Along with being the place to eat with some of the most picturesque views in Launceston, Stonesthrow also gives visitors a taste of the country with animal encounters, beautiful natural walks around the lakes and bushland, farm fresh produce used in the cafe and house-made products to purchase such as sourdough and jams. They also have paddle boats which are great fun. They recently got some highland cattle calves! Our children always ask to go there.

They also have paddle boats which are great fun. They recently got some highland cattle calves! Our children always ask to go there.
Henry's is probably best suited to 30+ years. It doesn't seem to get overly busy so you won't need to be pushing through crowds. The bar is really nice and the meals there are brilliant. I would recommend Henry's for a romantic meal or with a small group of friends. My girlfriends and I sometimes go for drinks and canapes, they usually have specials on a Friday night and live music.

Budda Thai is a very cosy little thai place. The food is really good. They do take away also. It can get quite loud in there as it is quite small but other than that it's a great restaurant.

I suppose you could class Pierre's as 'a little bit fancy'. It is best suited to couples and groups. They do a wonderful steak tartare. My hubby and I like to go here for date night.

Make sure you go hungry because man do they do massive serves of American style burgers, hot dogs and Canadian Poutine. They started out as a food truck and now have a restaurant in the cbd. There is also a cool bar there.

My absolute favourite seafood restaurant in Launceston. Hallam's over looks the picturesque Tamar River. The service here is top knotch and it has a great vibe. The seafood platter is a big feed so make sure you go hungry!

The Gorge is Launceston's most well known tourist attraction. Take a ride on the chair lift or venture across the suspension bridge, if you're lucky you'll come across a male peacock showing off it's beautiful plumage.

I have done a couple of the ropes courses and I found it terrifying but my husband and kids had a ball! Take a picnic with you, there's a nice spot to sit near the ropes course.

Evandale is a pretty little historical town, many of its buildings remain largely in original condition.
It is a 15 minute drive from Launceston. Evandale hosts a regular country market every Sunday, from around 8:00am until around 1:30pm. These markets are located in Falls Park, on Logan Road.
