Food Scene
Great location by the River Avon, next to the 19th Century Bathampton toll bridge. The food is good - mix of Mediterranean and British - there's a good selection of ales and wines and there's a log fire too for those cold winter evenings. Dog friendly in bar area where you can also eat. There is a restaurant too. Good for veggies.

Lovely pub in the centre, near The Roman Baths and Abbey Green. Great selection of drinks, good food and cosy bar area in winter with open fire. Covered rear terrace. There's been a pub on this site since the 1650s - originally called The Three Tuns (apparently Nelson stayed there). If you are a rugby fan, Bath Rugby is a must. One of the most iconic premiership rugby grounds in the country (more for the location and surrounding view than the actual stadium itself), The Rec attracts around 15000 fans a game. It does sell out regularly but you can often get tickets on the day from the box office.

Lovely little garden to stroll about in, take dog for a walk, play tennis or let the kids run and play in the playground area. It also has the canal running through it so you have access to the towpath. Sydney Gardens is actually the only remaining 18th century pleasure gardens in the country. Frequented by Jane Austen and balloon pioneer Andres-Jacques Garnerin no less!
