The Little Bear is an Evergreen landmark, located at the heart of downtown on main street. You can catch live music at “The Bear” 3-5 nights a week and 2 shows / bands on Saturdays and Sundays during the summer. If you have never been to the Little Bear, it’s a must see in Evergreen.

Sightseeing
These are a few of my favorite drives and sightseeing things to do in the area. This is in addition to the hiking trails and entertainment tips. These drives never disappoint and there are lots of cool things to see and do along the way.
Take a drive to the summit of Mt Evans or stop and chill out at Echo lake for the day. It’s a great drive anytime when you can take the highest paved road in the US to over 14,000 feet! Spectacular fall colors in September and first part of October-depending on the year.

A Colorado Scenic Byway, take highway 73 towards Conifer and head south on U.S. Hwy 285, a right turn at Conifer from the cabin. Take 285 to the small town of Grant along U.S. Hwy. 285, head north (RIGHT) on Guanella Pass Road to the town of Georgetown. The paved road leads you over 11,669-foot Guanella Pass with its spectacular views of Mount Evans and Mount Bierstadt. Continue the loop over the pass and then take I-70 east back to Evergreen!

You can also just check the place out and bring a picnic and fishing pole for some nice riverside chilling. Really cool area to just drive around with plenty of places to pull off the road and enjoy.
Parks & Nature
Open Space is a fabulous mountain park with well-maintained paths for biking and hiking. Elk Meadow Park is the most likely place in the Open Space system to view herds of elk. Trail experiences are diverse including the option for the 4.7-mile difficult hike with a 2,100-foot elevation gain from the Stagecoach Boulevard trail-head to 9,708-foot Bergen Peak.
