Bangalow has a somewhat more upmarket vibe than Mullum and the historical buildings are of particular interest. it's just 10 minutes drive away. My favourite cafes: Woods (Breakfast and lunch) Butcher Baker (Breakfast and Lunch) Mangosteen (Japanese lunch) Bang Burger bar (Yummy burgers) The Bangalow Pub serves bar food and has a dining room (booking recommended), while the Bangalow Bowlo is another very casual place to eat. There's also a bakery and supermarket in Bangalow. My favourite stores: XXOO (amazing jewellery) Pack Gallery (art) The Pharmacy (more than you can imagine) There is also an excellent health food store in town.

Lennox Head is a beautiful beachside town in which you can enjoy a long walk along Seven Mile Beach, paddle in Lake Ainsworth or a meal at one of the many cafes in town. It's an easy 30 minutes drive away. And you can also walk, run or ride along the 12km path between Lennox and Ballina. Other lovely beaches nearby include Boulders, Sharpes and Flat Rock, all worth a visit. Our favourite places to eat/drink: Shelter Surf Club cafe The Diner Lennox Head Pub

Byron has some of the best beaches to surf and swim in the world. There are many options located north and south of the lighthouse which make it such a popular destination. Driving into Byron can take anywhere between 15 minutes or longer depending on peak holiday periods and traffic. During these times, we always try to get to the beach a little earlier than we would normally (before 9am). On your way into town stop for breakfast, coffee or a pastry at The Farm. Take your time to enjoy sunrises at Belongil beach or sunsets at Wategos. And of course, spend an hour or so enjoying the lighthouse walk which you can start from Main Beach, Clarkes Beach, Captain Cook's lookout, The Pass or Wategos,. Our favourite places to eat: The Mez Club (go early for a drink if nothing else) Rae's (also try the Cellar Door for daytime drop-in drinks/food) Bang Bang Kouzina (Greek) Barrio The Loft Cypress Tree (Mediterranean) The Tree House The Balcony Yulli's Wok this Way A drink at the iconic Beach Hotel is a must. And check out the stores at the Habitat Precinct in the Byron Industrial Estate.

Brunswick Heads is 20 minutes drive away and one of our favourite places to eat and play. The river and beaches (Torakina and Main beach) are just gorgeous. Picnics by the river are popular, with several options for takeaway, including fish and chips. Our favourite places to eat: Saint Marie's (Pizza/Italian) La Casita (Mexican) Old Maids (great burgers, coffee and Chai) Brunswick Pub Lello's Pasta Bar

A further 5 minutes on from Bangalow, this little town is known for Harvest restaurant (bookings essential) and bakery. There are a couple of good retail stores here too that definitely make this spot one to add to your itinerary.
