Hiking

Many of our visitors come just to see the park, it's fantastic! Moose and Elk galore with incredible scenery and the highest, continually paved road in North America. Just a few things, you MUST have reservations to enter the park from May through MId October as well as any of the trails around Estes. Trail Ridge Road is only open from Memoral Day to Labor Day. https://www.nps.gov/romo/planyourvisit/timed-entry-permit-system.htm There are lots of great hikes to choose from. https://www.nps.gov/romo/planyourvisit/hikes.htm

This is a popular hiking destination for visitors and the blue and green loop can get awfully busy on the weekends. We recommend trying one of the other trails in the area and go during the week. https://www.chautauqua.com/

Baseline to Ampitheatre and Saddle Rock trail. it's challenging but shady with a 1500+ elevation gain, and a total length of about 3 miles in and out

Walking

This is a beautiful 3 mile walk around the lake with Longs Peak rising in the background. First thing in the morning is when I like to go when the water is like glass. https://www.longmontcolorado.gov/Home/Components/FacilityDirectory/FacilityDirectory/86/56?npage=2

A unique "zoo" experience, the animals are free and you're in the cage! Not really but you do walk through on an elevated fenced in walkway and observe the animals below. Try to go while they are feeding the animals, it a real treat. https://www.wildanimalsanctuary.org/
