Welcome to Harford

Neighbourhoods
If you love walking you will enjoy the many walks straight from the front door. We are a stone’s throw from two long distance trails and our garden backs onto Harford’s ancient woodland noted for it’s wild garlic and bluebells. Public footpaths crisscross our nearby fields and we live opposite the oldest Mazzard tree in North Devon. You can stroll along the Tarka Trail to the village pub and enjoy local ales and homemade food. There is also a shop, post office and the Willows Tea Room. We are also near to Codden Hill, historic Barnstaple, cycle trails, the South West coastal path, Exmoor, Dartmoor and stunning beaches. You’ll find Instow and the fishing village of Appledore about 20 minutes away. Westward Ho! is about the same distance and offers a more traditional seaside resort plus it’s beautiful Northam burrows and surfing beach. The historic fishing quay of a Clovelly is about 40 minutes away and nearby Bideford has a beautiful quay front where you can board the Oldenburg ferry for a day trip to Lundy island. There’s so much to do in this part of the world and you can comfortably get to north Cornwall and the Eden project is less than 2 hours away if you fancy going further afield.
