The Peabody is a historic hotel that is not only beautiful (wander or sit in the lobby with music), but also has ducks that march to and from their rooftop home every day at 11:00 & 5:00 with the Duckmaster. They march down the red carpet to the fountain in the lobby and back up the elevator in the evening.

Things to know

Memphis has great drinking water that comes from our aquifer. No need for bottled water here! Try BBQ nachos/BBQ spaghetti--a Memphis thang! As with any city, we have many positives and a few negatives. Just be aware and don't leave items in your car or they may not be there when you return. Also, ladies, don't leave your purse in an unlocked car if you get gas. Some people are sneaky enough to grab it without you seeing. It's happened to 2 of my friends. That said, there are many wonderful things happening in our city, with plenty to see, experience, and eat while you are here!
