One of the most hip coffee shops - you may run into Björk - she frequents it - and the coffee is super good. Just across the street from a great swimming pool

They only serve breakfast/brunch. The owners are artists and it is filled with books and artwork. And only 4 or 5 tables. But their "Truck" is the best ever breakfast whether you are hungover or just hungry.

Drinks & Nightlife
Judas Hobo was the best cocktail I have ever had - came in a brown paper bag...
They don't make it any more but their cocktails are out of this world. Go for happy hour!

Parks & Nature
Best in summer and there is a lovely coffee shop there. Great cakes and food but the service is, ahem, leisurely. Which is fine if you are having a day of leisure.
It is really a super nice place to enjoy a sunny day.

Essentials
The closest grocery store to my place (literally 5 minutes' walk). Open from 8 am to midnight and has the basics and then some.
Right next to it there is a tiny shopping mall where there is a pharmacy: Apótekarinn.

The local swimming pool with hot geothermal water mixed with seawater. Lovely for swimming but also for the various hot tubs. Inexpensive, really clean and relaxing.

Arts & Culture
Check out their website for concerts, recitals, shows etc. The Icelandic Symphony Orchestra is way better than what you would expect in such a small country :) They have concerts almost every Thursday and there are lots of other concerts - not only classical - offered.

You will find my favorite flea market here. It is run by the Red Cross to support a women's shelter. It is only open from 12 noon to 4 pm on Saturdays but if you are into flea market, this one is the best. Half of my wardrobe is from them...
It is called Konukot.
