Food Scene
Waiheke has a vibrant and constantly changing food scene, from takeaways and food trucks to exclusive restaurants. Close to the bach, around Ostend, there are quite a few affordable takeaway options, especially on Belgium Street, Putiki Road (next to RAW) and the Tahi Road/Poto Street area.
Check out the local papers for up to date information about the great selection of restaurants.
Our favourites:
Indy's Curry Pot on Erua Road (walking distance)
La Dolce Vita for amazing ice creams, luscious pasta and the best pizza in town.
Casita Miro, look it up, its the best place for a great long lunch, apart from the legendary Poderi Crisci at Awa awaroa Bay.
Or go and have dinner or a relaxed afternoon at 372 at Onetangi, always great quality.
But you're sure to make your own discoveries.
Casita Miro
3 Brown RdGreat atmosphere and fantastic food.
Parks & Nature
We are on the Te Ara Hura walkway - this 'red line' route goes all around the island, and takes in the most scenic spots. the beauty of this trail is that you can do small sections and connect with cafe's villages, bus stops and beaches to suit your preferences. We have great maps available and feel free to ask Jan about the best places - he knows them all.
Waiheke has a beach for every occasion: high tide, low tide, easterlies or keen southwesterlies, there is always a good beach nearby. Just ask for advice.
Te Toki Road Reserve
