Maleny is a small hinterland town around 35min from the house. I like to go for day trips there and have some favourite spots that I like to visit when there. It's a cozy little town with a little alternative vibe.
- Sara's Unplugged (coffee and cake)
- Must visit: Maleny Lane (several food stalls from different cultures in a really cozy area outside. There's live music Friday nights + Sunday afternoons)
- Brouhaha (beer brewery)
- Maleny Chocolate Co.
- Gardener Falls (waterfall just outside the town)

A large market with food stalls, coffee, drinks, produce, clothes, accessories, art and craft, live music etc. Really nice and relaxed atmosphere! Make sure to set aside at least a few hours.
Favourite coffee spot is Eumundi Coffee Co. at the main street. Locally brewed and roasted.
After the market, there's live music at the Imperial Hotel, where there's a gin bar ($10 gin cocktails on special for happy hour) and a local beer brewery.

Great short hike and a good workout. When you get to the top there are several view points so you get views of both the coast and hinterland. It's really beautiful on top and I like to bring some snacks and spend some time up there.
P.S. It takes around 40min and it's quite steep and some loose rocks on the way.

P.S! It's possible to swim but it's advised not to jump in as currents make it possible to be sucked down and people have drowned for this reason.

Most convenient way here from BNE airport is shuttle bus
If you're coming from Brisbane Airport, it's convenient to pre book the shuttle bus and it drops you at the house. It takes around one hour, depending on amount of passengers and their destinations. Public transport takes around 2.5-3 hours and requires 2-3 changes so it makes for a smoother trip here.
$65 for adults or $63 for students one way ($109 return).
The shuttle company is called Con-x-ion.
