Stuff to do
This is a really cool kids park that incorporates old water mains into the park design. It is a bit retro though and has metal slides that can get hot so just be a bit careful about that. Kids can learn about water conservation through signs around the park while there.

Kids 10 and over can try driving on their own. Or you can get 2-seaters. Fun for adults too. Open all day and evening so it's easy to fit around other activities. Also good if it feels a bit too cool to go to the beach.
We didn't try it but they also have a batting cage and mini golf plus snack hut. They all looked good!

This is about 15 min away but I was able to get an appointment last min whereas everywhere I called in Collingwood was filled. The atmosphere was also REALLY nice and clean. We did a mother daughter pedicure and they have lower prices for kids 12 and under which was nice.

It's amazing to have access to such a beautiful swimming area so close to downtown. There are amazing stairs leading you into the water. Note that it is a rocky beach.

Sightseeing
Great views, walking trails, benches and small beach that really is great to watch the sunset from. You can get some good waves here, which makes it fun for older kids. There are also cool stairways down into the water from the walking trails. You can also get ice cream here :)

This little park is really close to the house (5 min walk) and is just interesting and peaceful. It has a Japanese theme.

Outdoor activities
About a 15 min drive from the house. Many outdoor activities including hiking, paddleboats, mini golf, ropes courses, mountain roller coaster, climbing wall, zip lines, and swimming at plunge. Fun for adults and kids. A variety of restaurants and shops. Check out the various passes before you arrive because COVID has meant that there are some limitations on the number sold per day. The all day pass can be a good deal if interested in multiple activities. You can make a day of it! It can get very busy here with line ups. Go on a weekday if possible. Enjoy!

Amazing beach for adults and kids. Beach 1 is near restaurants and shops but gets the busiest. I like beach 2 best because you can walk over but it's less busy. Get there early to miss traffic and get a good spot - bring a blanket, snacks, cards, football - stay the day. Parking is about $20.

If you're coming up on Airport Rd, it only takes 4 minutes to drive into historic Creemore. The Bank Cafe is famous for its carrot cake and is worth stopping at.

A fun stop on the way to Collingwood. Nice setting to walk around out of the car for a few minutes with chairs outside. You can purchase cases of different types of cider as well as some specialty food items.

Shopping
This store has souvenirs that are not tacky. Collingwood and Georgian Bay t-shirts, sweatshirts etc that you'd actually wear. I like their jewelry as well.
