This exciting initiative has created a world-class tourism facility, whilst focusing on sustainability and protecting the rich history of the homestead and it’s location. The site is named after a boulder that is suspended between other boulders on the main path. Make like an adventurer and climb the rocks to enjoy great views, and bring a picnic or to barbecue for when you need to refuel when you get down.

With 30 kilometres of connecting trails throughout Macedon Regional Park, it’s no wonder visitors drive the short distance to enjoy a bush walk and barbecue picnic.
If it’s your lucky day you may encounter native wildlife such as kangaroos, wombats and echidnas. Or an abundance of birds including rosellas, galahs, majestic eagles and tiny blue wrens.
In winter the park transforms into a mushroom fairyland, with nature lovers exploring trails to discover an abundance of wild funghi over the cool autumn and winter months.

With 30 kilometres of connecting trails throughout Macedon Regional Park, it’s no wonder visitors drive the short distance to enjoy a bush walk and barbecue picnic.

As one of Victoria's oldest inland towns, Kilmore features a collection of historic buildings including the post office (built in 1863), court house (1864) and former police barracks (1892). However, one of the most striking of Kilmore's public buildings is the former town hall which was built in 1894 and features a decorative facade with enormous Corinthian pillars. The oldest surviving house in Kilmore is Whitburgh Cottage, which was constructed from bluestone in 1853. The cottage is located in Piper Street and now houses a museum which features items of 19th century culture.
