Off the beaten path, Petrini's is the place for Italian dining at it's most yummy AND economical. The waitress will make you feel like you're one of the family. Mangia bene, ridi spesso, ama molto!!

Our all-time favorite Mexican restaurant. Try the hearty Alambres plate or Tinga (marinated chicken) gorditas. The food is so good that all my sentences start with, "When I was at Cuernavaca's..."

Try Pascucci’s in front of Paseo Nuevo Mall for a nice Italian vibe and private seating in small alcoves with Italian theater-esque curtains. The Ravioli Sampler is only $13.50 yet tastes like $1M.

Cajun Kitchen gets the thumbs-up from Karen’s best friend Dejae who was born and raised in “Looziana”. She and John love the jambalaya, grits and eggs. The beignets are purdy darn good too.

What could be more fun than to peruse posthumously donated curiosity cabinet collections of deceased Santa Barbarians? (Karen's bad joke) Kidding! We love the museum, and often spend hours there!!

great hands-on place to see sea life up close! Drive right onto the pier and park - first 90 min. free! While you're at it, have your palm read and chow down on a superb sourdough clam chowder bowl.
