“A local favorite, which was once a Coast Guard station. It sits upon the hill to Cahoon Hollow Beach. It’s $20 to park at the lot, but you receive a $20 voucher to the restaurant. Open Memorial Day-Labor Day. Also, a fun spot for going out at night.”

“This is a locals spot- we always go here for special occasions. I absolutely love Mac's Shack for everything from draft beer and cocktails to sushi to fresh seafood. These folks know what they are doing and the atmosphere is impeccable. Sit inside or out- odds are, one of the waitstaff helping you is a local and a friend of mine. Great people, great food. Plus- they have Gluten Free options”

Nature Preserve
“Birders flock to Mass Audubon's 940-acre sanctuary, where 5 miles of trails cross tidal creeks, salt marshes and beaches. The most popular is the Goose Pond Trail (1.5-mile round-trip), which leads out to a salt marsh and offers abundant opportunities for spotting marine and bird life. The sanctuary also offers guided walks and kayaking tours, seal cruises and summer kids' programs.”

Natural Feature
“Wellfleet Another National Seashore gem with iconic dunes waiting for their closeup Bostonians day-trip to this beach in the summer -- that’s how irresistible it is. And John F. Kennedy recognized it early: In 1961, he signed a bill authorizing the creation of the Cape Cod National Seashore, the first time a national park was created out of previously private land (don’t tell the libertarians). A little more history: The beach is named after Italian inventor Guglielmo Marconi, who in 1903 sent the first US-originating transatlantic radio transmission right from the Cape. OK, enough social studies: this is a massive, gorgeous beach, with towering dunes, intimidating waves, and endless views in each direction. It’s always crowded but never overwhelmingly so, owing to its sheer size. One more selling point: it’s dog-friendly year-round. One drawback: a lot of stairs to get there. (Note: The Marconi beach steps were damaged during the winter owing to the storms; the beach reopens to the public on June 17 this year.)”

“Formerly, The Wellfleet Oyster House. The original structure houses the main dining room and it dates back to 1750. The building was floated across the bay from Billingsgate Island, which is now a mere sandbar visible only at low tide. Through the years additions were made to the building as it went from residence to restaurant. T There were quite a few popular restaurants here, but one of the most beloved was, undeniably, the Wellfleet Oyster House. We LOVE The Wicked Oyster, wonderful dinners and fabulous breakfasts. It’s best to RESERVE a table ahead of time.”
